The project – Búðarhálsvirkjun – is a conventional 95 MW hydroelectric power station, which will activate  Tungnaá and Kaldakvísl between Hrauneyjafoss and Sultartanga. Kaldakvísl and Sporðöldukvísl will be blocked east of Búðarháls and the water diverted through a tunnel through the station Búðarháls  to the west of the ridge and from there to Sultartangalón. The plant will use the 40 meter fall and the production will be 585 Gw hours / year. The three contracts are for the project. One for the dam, another for the tunnel and the third for the power station. Included are road construction, transitional and other incidences, Contractual work are FIDIC and the largest number of workers , on behalf of the contractor are 280 people.
