The project – Air Terminal, North Building – is a milestone in approx. 4300 square meter expansion of the north building of the air terminal in Keflavik. The project involves on one hand an extension to the southwest wing for the staff gate, service entrance and expansion of luggage gates for departing passengers. And on the other hand it involves in extension to the southeast wing, where the baggage bands are. The entrance of the departure traffic to the Air terminal needs to be changed as well as demolishing the wall
that separates the current service entrance and the departures area.

Extension to the southwest wing will in part be on two floors with concrete foundations and a bottom plate. The building will have a steel frame sealed with sandwich elements. Interior walls will be built from tin pillars, fire control particle board and materials that can withstand a lot of the pressure. A suspension ceiling is by the airport security area, coffee rooms, toilets and offices. The building will be fully ventilated, with good acoustic and finished with durable materials.

Extension to the southeast wing will be on one floor with concrete foundations, current ramp will be used as a base plate. The building will have a steel frame sheathed with sandwich elements.
